A Kent apartment fire displaced a family of four at about 3 a.m. Monday in the 23900 block of 60th Avenue South.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Valley Com dispatch received multiple calls to report the fire, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The first arriving Kent fire engine reported that the building was evacuated and smoke and flames were showing from the windows of a first-floor unit.\u00a0 Firefighters made an aggressive rapid attack and knocked the fire down within minutes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Fire crews then searched for hot spots in hidden areas of the apartment to ensure that the fire had not spread to other rooms or apartments. The fire was held to the room of origin with significant smoke and heat damage throughout the apartment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The family of four living in the apartment has been displaced by the fire. The apartment complex management was able to relocate the family to a different apartment unit.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The cause of the fire and damage estimates are not yet available. There were no injuries.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
