The Everett Silvertips snapped the Seattle Thunderbirds’ six-game winning streak with a 2-0 Western Hockey League win Saturday night at Xfinity Arena.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds (7-2-1-0) remain atop the U.S. Division.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Everett (5-3-0-0) took a 1-0 lead 2:25 into the second period. Cameron Dewar took a pass from Devon Skoleski and split the T-Birds defense for a breakaway. Seattle goalie Logan Flodell stopped Dewar’s wrist shot from the slot, but Dewar chipped the rebound over Flodell’s glove for the opening goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Silvertips went in front 2-0 at 15:47 of the second on a slap shot by Lucas Skrumeda. Dewar had the only assist on the goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds outshot the Silvertips 15-11 in the second period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds pulled Flodell for an extra attacker late in the game. They had several chances but could not get the puck past Everett goalie Carter Hart.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Flodell ended the evening stopping 22 of 24 shots and his record is now 4-1-1-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Hart made 32 saves to get the shutout and his record is now 5-3-0-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Coming home<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n The T-Birds host the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:05 p.m. at the ShoWare Center. This is the first Directors Mortgage 2-for-Tuesday of the season. All tickets are two-for-one and there are $2 concession specials on soda, beer, hot dogs and popcorn.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
