\u2022 Accomplishment: Aliment held off Kentwood’s Jose Hernandez 9-3 in the championship match of the 125-pound weight class at last weekend’s SPSL North sub-district tournament. It’s Aliment’s second-straight league crown.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite class: AP U.S. History.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (actress) Selena Gomez and serve a pasta dish.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Greatest athletic moment: Placing first at the SPSL North sub-district wrestling tournament last year.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sport: Swimming.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Accomplishment: Ryan has been Kentwood’s most consistent swimmer all season and will be the program’s lone representative at the state meet next week, when he competes in the breaststroke.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite class: AP Calculus BC.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite the past and present swim team, and we would have Red Robin.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite Movie: District 9.<\/p>\n

\u2022 What’s on your iPod?: “Uprising” by Muse.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Also noted: Ryan sports a 3.97 grade-point average, is part of the National Honor Society and is an Eagle scout.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

KATIE STECKLER<\/p>\n

Kentlake<\/p>\n

\u2022 Grade: Sophomore.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sport: Gymnastics.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Accomplishment: Steckler served up a strong overall performance at last weekend’s district gymnastics meet, finishing 11th overall among more than 125 competitors. Steckler’s top score came in the floor routine, where she pulled 9.175.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite class: Ceramics.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (gymnast) Shawn Johnson and we would have Italian food.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Greatest athletic moment: When Kentlake took second at last year’s Class 4A state gymnastics meet.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Most recent book read\/author: “Snowed In” by Rachel Hawthorne.<\/p>\n

\u2022 What’s on your iPod?: All kinds of music.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Also noted: Outside of gymnastics, Steckler is part of the National Honor Society and enjoys wakeboarding and inner tubing during the summer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

JEFF HARJEHAUSEN<\/p>\n

\u2022 Grade: Junior.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sport: Wrestling.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Accomplishment: Harjehausen, who came into the SPSL North sub-district tournament as the No. 12 seed, went on to win the 112-pound crown after fending off teammate Sean Farr 6-5 in the championship match.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite class: Draw\/Paint\/Design.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (NFL player) Antonio Gates. I would serve fried chicken, biscuits with gravy, and Kool-Aid with a side of shrimp.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Greatest athletic moment: Freshman year I took fourth at regionals and qualified for state.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Most recent book read\/author: “Friday Night Lights” by H.G. Bissinger.<\/p>\n

\u2022 What’s on your iPod?: “Blah, Blah, Blah” by Brother Ali.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Also noted: After high school, Harjehausen is considering joining the Air Force so he can become a pilot or if he’d rather make a career out of video game designing.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

D’ANDREA PARKER<\/p>\n

Kent-Meridian<\/p>\n

\u2022 Grade: Junior.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Sport: Basketball.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Accomplishment: Parker helped the Royals finish the season on a winning note, pouring in nine points in a 60-51 SPSL North win over Kentridge.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Favorite class: French.<\/p>\n

\u2022 If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (teammate) Candace Parker and I would serve my mom’s homemade mashed potatoes and sweet cornbread.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Most recent book read\/author: “Angel” by Terri Woods.<\/p>\n

\u2022 What’s on your iPod?: “Back to Eden” by Donald Lawrence and “I Love You” by Chris Brown.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Also noted: Parker, who sports a 3.675 grade-point average, plans to attend the University of Washington after high school and study bio-chemistry.
