The Northwest Warriors, a Kent-based team that draws players from Kent, Auburn and Enumclaw, has earned a trip to the Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series.<\/p>\n

The Warriors secured their tickets to Georgia last weekend with an 8-7 victory against O\u2019Brien Autogroup of Bellevue in the 16-and-under CABA regionals in Redmond.<\/p>\n

Brandon Johnson, who was named the tournament\u2019s Most Valuable Player, hit two home runs in the title game, and had four RBIs.<\/p>\n

Johnson was among six Warriors who were named to the all-tournament team. Joining him on that squad were Clayton Brown, Ben Cox, Joe Piercey, Craig Rainey and Trevor Swain.<\/p>\n

In five games at the 12-team regionals, the Warriors, coached by Scott Richards and managed by Masami Hasegawa, outscored their opponents, 43-20.<\/p>\n

The CABA World Series will take place July 27-Aug. 3 in Marietta, Ga.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
