Scott has four goals to lead Seattle to 7-4 victory over Lethbridge<\/p>\n

Kent, February 6, 2009 – Greg Scott had four goals an assist Friday night to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 7-4 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in front of 4,155 at ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n

Scott’s four goals were a season high for a T-Bird player and is also the most goals scored at ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n

Seattle (24-26-1-3) took a 1-0 lead at 3:16 of the first period on the 20th goal of the year from Scott. Prab Rai worked the puck out of the left corner and up the boards to Jonathan Parker. Parker centered the puck between his legs to Scott in the high slot. Scott skated right causing Lethbridge goalie Juha Metsola to go down and then he snuck the puck under the goalie.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge (27-24-3-2) tied the game 1-1 at 4:30 of the first on a goal by Brody Sutter. Brent Henke and Austin Fyten had the assists.<\/p>\n

Zach Boychuk scored a power-play goal at 10:03 of the first to put the Hurricanes in front 2-1. Luca Sbisa and Colton Sceviour had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds tied the game 2-2 at 11:08 of the second period on Scott’s second goal of the night. Rai got to loose puck just outside the Lethbridge blue line and carried the puck into the offensive zone. Rai backhanded the puck to Parker coming down the right side. Parker sent the puck across to Scott at the left post who banged it past Metsola.<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Lethbridge 12-9 in the first period.<\/p>\n

Boychuk scored at 2:27 of the second period to put the Hurricanes in front 3-2. Sceviour had the only assist on the goal.<\/p>\n

Scott was awarded a penalty shot at 18:19 of the second when he was hauled down from behind on a breakaway. On the penalty shot Scott came in on Metsola moving left to right. Scott put a snap shot on goal that was heading to the upper right corner. Metsola snagged the shot preserving the Hurricanes one-goal lead.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge outshot Seattle 15-9 in the second period and led 24-22 in total shots after two periods.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds tied the game 3-3 at 2:56 of the third period on a power-play goal by Thomas Hickey. Parker sent the puck up the right boards to Rai. Rai quickly sent the puck to Hickey charging down the slot. Hickey beat Metsola with a fast wrist shot over the glove to tie the game 3-3.<\/p>\n

Kyle Beach scored a power-play goal at 5:36 of the third period to give the Hurricanes a 4-3 lead. Sceviour and Boychuk had assists on the goal.<\/p>\n

Seattle came right back to tie the game 4-4 at 11:26 of the third. Brad Haber passed the puck up the right boards to Rai who cut to center ice and crossed into the Hurricanes zone. Rai took the puck wide down the left side while Scott came down the slot. Rai passed the puck to the crease and Scott redirected the puck past Metsola on the glove side for his third goal of the night.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds took the lead for good at 17:08 of the third when Rai finished off a sensational passing combination from Hickey and Scott. Hickey had the puck on the left boards just inside the Lethbridge blue line. Hickey used his body to shield the puck and then passed it on his backhand to Scott. Scott skated into the circle, looked at Metsola and then crossed the puck across the slot to Rai. Rai one-timed the pass and beat Metsola high for the go-ahead goal. It was Rai’s fifth point of the game.<\/p>\n

Sena Acolatse scored at 18:59 of the third to give the T- Birds an insurance goal. Jim O’Brien assisted on the goal.<\/p>\n

Scott added an empty-net goal at 19:53 of the third to seal the win for the T-Birds. Parker had the only assist on goal to give him a season high four assists in the game.<\/p>\n

Seattle outshot Lethbridge 11-10 in the third period but the Hurricanes finished with a 34-33 advantage in total shots.<\/p>\n

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard stopped 30 of 34 shots and improved his record to 13-10-1-3.<\/p>\n

Metsola stopped 26 of 32 shots and his record falls to 19-17-3-2.<\/p>\n

The T-Birds travel to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They are back home at ShoWare Center on Sunday to take on the Vancouver Giants at 5:05 p.m.<\/p>\n
