Five different Seattle Thunderbirds scored Friday night at Comcast Arena to help the T-Birds to a 5-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds have now won four consecutive games. They face the Portland Winterhawks Saturday night at ShoWare Center at 7:05.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle (16-13-1-0) took a 1-0 lead at 4:12 of the first period. Connor Honey got the puck from Jerret Smith behind the Everett net. Honey fed the puck to Roberts Lipsbergs in the slot. Lipsbergs beat Everett goalie Daniel Cotton with a wrist shot over the glove to extend his goal streak to six games and his point streak to 11 games. Lipsbergs has 13 goals and five assists in the point streak.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Everett (11-20-0-2) outshot Seattle 9-8 in the first period.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The T-Birds went in front 2-0 at 10:39 of the second period. Evan Wardley had the puck at the right point. He sent the puck down the boards to Seth Swenson. Swenson skated across the top of the left circle, made a spin move and put a wrist shot on goal. Swenson’s shot beat Cotton low.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Mitch Elliot extended the lead to 3-0 12 seconds after Swenson’s goal. Brendan Rouse had the puck along the left boards. Rouse centered the puck to Luke Lockhart in the high slot. Lockhart one-timed Rouse’s pass with Elliot in front of the Everett goalie. Cotton made the save but Elliot banged in the rebound for his first goal of the season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Silvertips outshot the T-Birds 18-10 in the second period and led 27-18 in shots after two periods.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Riley Sheen scored at 6:52 of the third period to give the T-Birds a 4-0 lead. Honey sent the puck from the left board to Shea Theodore inside the blue line. Theodore put a slap shot on goal that Cotton stopped. Sheen was on the doorstep to bang home the radio for his eight goal of the season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Brendan Rouse tipped a Griffin Foulk point shot past Cotton at 18:21 of the third for the T-Birds fifth goal of the game. Swenson got the puck to Foulk at the left point. The assist was Foulk’s first point of the season and came against his former team.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Seattle goalie Brandon Glover lost the shutout with seven seconds left in the game when Tyler Sandhu scored a power-play goal. Sandhu sent the puck towards the Seattle net from the left goal line. The puck deflected off a T-Birds defenseman and past Glover. Josh Winquist and Manraj Hayer were credited with the assists.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Both teams had seven shots on goal in the third period but Everett outshot Seattle 34-25 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Glover ended up making 33 saves on 34 shots to get the win and improve his record to 15-10-1-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Cotton stopped 20 of 25 shots and his record is now 8-8-0-0.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
