Halloween events are planned in Kent and Des Moines for families and their children on Wednesday, Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kent Station<\/a> merchants will pass out tasty treats to little ghosts and goblins from 4-6 p.m. Kent Station will award gift cards to the best individual costumes and best group costumes. Judging will begin at 4:30 pm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Costumes will be judged by a panel of Kent Station merchant managers and owners. Winning costumes will be judged on originality, details and accessories that coordinate the ensemble and overall appearance.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Please be present by the Fountain Stage at 4:30 pm to be eligible for costume judging. Prizes are Kent Station gift cards, good at any Kent Station merchant, restaurant or the AMC Theatres.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In Des Moines, children 12 and younger can play challenge games and take part in activities at a Halloween Carnival from 5-8 p.m. at the Landmark on the Sound Event Center,<\/a> 23660 Marine View Dr. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The cost is $5 per child and non-perishable food items will be accepted for the Des Moines Food Bank. Revenues fund the charitable activities of Masonic Outreach Services.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

A kids carnival will take center stage along with ample activities including a cookie walk, coloring contest, haunted hall, face painting and more.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In 2011, more than 1,000 guests attended and $900 was donated to Masonic Outreach Services along with food for the Des Moines Food Bank.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
