{"id":12977,"date":"2015-12-23T10:23:08","date_gmt":"2015-12-23T18:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/wood-stove-fire-damages-kent-home\/"},"modified":"2016-10-23T03:05:40","modified_gmt":"2016-10-23T10:05:40","slug":"wood-stove-fire-damages-kent-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/wood-stove-fire-damages-kent-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Wood stove fire damages Kent home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Three people were displaced on Tuesday night after their wood stove started a fire in the joist space between the first and second floor of their Kent home.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Firefighters from the Kent Regional Fire Authority, Maple Valley Fire Department, and the Valley Regional Fire Authority were dispatched to the <a title=\"map\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/28100+134th+Pl+SE,+Kent,+WA+98042\/@47.350561,-122.1640581,665m\/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x54905f3ade09dc75:0xe7a17400e1b4fe31\" target=\"_self\">28100 block of 134th Place Southeast<\/a> at 9 p.m. when the residents became concerned after their wood stove began making noise and heat could be felt in the walls nearby.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>No one was injured in the fire and the two adults and one child escaped on their own, according to a Kent Fire Department media release. The fire started after heat ignited the joists nearest the stove\u2019s chimney.
