A regional law enforcement rally for domestic violence awareness month is scheduled for noon Friday, Oct. 5 at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 Fourth Ave. N. in Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The event, sponsored by the Auburn Domestic Violence Task Force, will join law enforcement, domestic violence advocates, treatment providers, survivors and citizens, to rally against domestic violence.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Police officers from the King County Sheriff’s Office, Auburn, Kent, Federal Way and other South King agencies will gather along with the King County Prosecutor’s Office and municipal prosecutor’s offices. The rally will be on the outside steps of the RJC.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
State Sen. Tracey Eide, D-Federal Way, as well as local law enforcement officials will be on hand at the rally.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Speakers will address the efforts of law enforcement, legislators and community response to the growing problem of human trafficking and its proliferation through domestic violence.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
A line of patrol cars from several South King County agencies will be parked on the large sidewalk in front of the RJC entrance. The attending officers will display the purple ribbon in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
