Kent City Council candidate Hira Singh Bhullar has raised nearly twice as much campaign money so far than the combined total of his opponents Bailey Stober and Tina Budell.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Bhullar has raised $26,053, according to the state Public Disclosure Commission (PDC) website report <\/a>on Monday. Stober has raised $9,355 and Budell $4,755. The three are on the Aug. 4 primary ballot. The top two vote getters advance to the Nov. 3 general election.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This marks the first political campaign for Bhullar and Budell. Stober is making his third attempt to earn a council seat.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The top contributors to Bhullar include $950 each (the state allowed maximum) from nine individuals, including a Tumwater chief technology officer, a Seattle executive director, a Kent convenience store owner, a Gig Harbor dentist and a Sammamish architect. The two $950 contributors to Stober are the Seattle Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587 and a Seattle dentist. Budell’s top contributor is $950 from a California sales manager.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As far as expenditures, Bhullar has spent $10,312, with the biggest costs of $1,861 to a Tumwater printing company and $1,451 to a Seattle sign business. Budell has expenditures of $4,034, including $850 to a Bellingham website designer and $450 to a T-shirt company. Stober has spent $3,322, including $450 to Redwoods Enterprises of Kent for a kickoff party deposit and another $450 to Redwoods for the kickoff event final payment as well as\u00a0 $430 to a California printer.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
