The Kent Police Department and Kent Police Youth Board hosted the 26th annual Game of Life youth conference Dec. 4-5 at Kent Commons.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With a goal of helping youth to make a positive community impact, the Game of Life Youth Conference featured middle and senior high school students from Kent, Renton, Auburn, Enumclaw and other school districts. Teams of students participated in workshops ranging from leadership development to underage drinking prevention, diversity and traffic safety.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“One of the goals we at the Kent School District have is to make connections with our community, so we are so pleased to join together with the Kent Police Department for this important annual event,” said Edward Lee Vargas, superintendent. “We want our students to return to their schools and implement follow up projects that focus on environmental needs such as bullying prevention, education about the dangers of underage drinking\/drug use and the importance of a positive school environment.”<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
