It\u2019s going to cost anywhere from $231 to $874 if someone wants a ticket to the sold-out Dolly Parton concert on Sept. 21 at Kent\u2019s ShoWare Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Tickets went on sale on April 29 and the 6,000 tickets sold out in just two hours, said Ben Wolters, city economic and community development director, in a report to the City Council\u2019s Economic and Community Development Committee.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Prices on the online resale market range from $231 per ticket for a section near the back up to $874 for a floor seat in row H of a front section. The tickets sold originally for $39.50 to $125.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was a major coup and it speaks to how we continue to get traction in the country music market,\u201d Wolters said about SMG, the marketing group for ShoWare, attracting the Parton concert to Kent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The country duo Florida Georgia Line drew 7,000 people to the ShoWare Center in December 2013, the largest crowd at the city-owned facility. That concert also sold out in two hours.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Florida Georgia Line agreed to a seating arrangement that wrapped around the stage a bit, so more people were able to get tickets, Wolters said. He said Parton preferred to keep the smaller setup.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Parton, 70, has had 25 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard Country charts. The stop in Kent is part of her Pure & Simple tour.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
