How much time and money did it take for the city financial task force to come to the same conclusion the voters did awhile back?

It appears when an issue pertains to what the people want, not business, not politicians’ biased opinions, but just the voters who have done their job by voting, they are ignored completely. We voted for the pot shops not to just get “high,” like most politicians think we do, but for the need for tax breaks from all the bad decisions our City Council has made.

The medical benefits are scientific, have been proven, but could do even more if taken off the list of dangerous drugs. Research could be done, save lives, but the DEA did not make a decision in time, much like our City Council on the fireworks ban, extending it another year for the business of it.

I am seeing less and less democracy in government from top to bottom, and beginning to wonder why we vote. Just for appearances?

So let’s hope the mayor can now do, the right thing and make the decision to take taxes from pot shops, and help the citizens of the city in which the mayor serves. After all, they waited so long now, it is no longer their decision, therefore they are not responsible for it, which is why they would not make up their minds in the first place.

We have politicians but lack leaders. They follow more than they think we do.
