{"id":12668,"date":"2011-07-14T12:29:58","date_gmt":"2011-07-14T19:29:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/public-hearing-july-19-in-kent-on-medical-marijuana-moratorium\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T12:50:39","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T19:50:39","slug":"public-hearing-july-19-in-kent-on-medical-marijuana-moratorium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/public-hearing-july-19-in-kent-on-medical-marijuana-moratorium\/","title":{"rendered":"Public hearing July 19 in Kent on medical marijuana moratorium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>Want to tell the Kent City Council what you think of its six-month ban on businesses selling medical marijuana?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>You have that chance as the council will have a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 in Council Chambers at City Hall, 220 Fourth Ave. S., to take testimony and consider adopting further findings.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>State law requires the council to hold a public hearing after the adoption of a moratorium.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p><a title=\"council\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pnwlocalnews.com\/south_king\/ken\/news\/125061628.html\" target=\"_self\">The council passed a six-month emergency moratorium<\/a> July 5 on the establishment and operation of medical marijuana collective gardens and dispensaries within the city limits on a 5-2 vote.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p><a title=\"bust\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pnwlocalnews.com\/south_king\/ken\/news\/125101813.html\" target=\"_self\">Kent Police served search warrants at four medical marijuana businesses<\/a> July 6.
