The Rainier Youth Choirs organization continues to grow with the addition of a second section of Vocina, a choir for singers in second and third grade, this season.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The choir gathers on Thursdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. at Kent Elementary School, 24700 64th Ave. S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

New singers (grades 2 and up) are also being added throughout September to the choirs that rehearse Monday evenings at Cedar Heights Middle School, 19640 SE 272nd St, Covington.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

RYO is under direction of an artistic staff, consisting of Leora Schwitters, Brian Hoskins, Brad Wills, Karen Martin and accompanists Lori McEwen and Mary Kaye Owens.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Its ninth season \u2013 Explore, Dream, Discover \u2013 includes four public concerts; caroling on the Argosy Christmas Ship; a performance at The Grotto in Portland,; a Choir Festival for upper elementary and middle school singers; Music in the Parks at Wild Waves; and participation in the Pacific International Choir Festival in Eugene, Ore.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Rainier Youth Choirs is a nonprofit, community-based organization with no religious affiliation for boys and girls that offers a family-friendly choral music education for singers in grades 2 and up.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
