Today USAgain presented the school with a check and plaque.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>During April, schools throughout the country competed to collect textiles in USAgain drop boxes located at schools. Schools actively spread awareness about low textile recycling rates and the need to recycle more.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The top three schools in two categories, the most pounds collected overall and the most pounds collected per student were awarded cash prizes of $500, $300 and $250, respectively.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Participating schools earned cash for each pound of textiles collected.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>St. Clare School, of O&#8217;Fallon, Ill., was the winner for most pounds collected overall (4,659 pounds), followed by Sunrise (2,188 pounds).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Picasso Preschool, of El Granada, Calif., was the winners for most pounds collected per student.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>This year 510 schools nationally participated in the contest.
