The city of Kent parks department is looking for volunteers for its final two spring events on May 15 and June 7.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

National Trails Day is May 18 at Lake Fenwick Park. Deadline to sign up is Wednesday, May 15.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The final spring event is installing a new playground and other park improvement projects at Turnkey Park on June 7. You must register in advance by May 31. The city is discouraging kids from coming because of all the construction projects that will be going on.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Register for both events at www.KentWA.gov\/ParkVolunteers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The city also is looking for volunteers interested in being \u201cbuild captains\u201d for the KaBOOM event at Turnkey Park. Build captains will work with a group of 10-20 volunteers to construct one piece of playground equipment (plenty of staff supervision from certified staff, so you don\u2019t have to be an expert), or plant a rain garden, build benches, shovel mulch, etc…<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
