Assault

An argument from the previous night reportedly carried over into an assault by two men – one armed with a tire iron and the other with a large kitchen knife – against two men the morning of April 27 in the grandstands at French Field during a league soccer game.

Kent Police arrested the two armed men for investigation of second-degree assault in connection with the altercation.

The two men who were reportedly attacked were transported to Auburn Regional Medical Center for injuries, although they were not considered life-threatening. Paramedics transported one of the arrested men to Valley Medical Center in Renton.

Witnesses called 911 during the fight and gave police a description of the armed men and the vehicle they used to try to get away. Police saw the vehicle as they responded to the call and arrested both men in the car.

The two armed men and one of the men at French Field reportedly had an argument at a party on the night of April 26. Police did not say what the argument had been about.

All of the men involved in the incident were in their mid-20’s, according to police.

Hit and run

It took police a while to determine the identity of the driver of a Geo Metro involved in an accident that had it spinning out of control and landing on its roof April 21 along Lake Fenwick Road near Reith Road.

After some sleuthing and calls from witnesses, police arrested a man later that evening for investigation of hit and run and reckless driving after he fled the car after it reportedly ran over a street sign and a fire hydrant before landing on its roof, according to the police report.

A witness called 911 and reported a woman running from the Geo Metro into a nearby apartment complex. Police arrived at the car and found a woman, who denied driving the car and told officers she did not know who drove the car.

But a relative of the woman later called police and said a man had driven the car.

Police found the man at the nearby apartment complex with a cut on his head. The woman initially spotted near the Geo Metro told police she did not want her friend to get into trouble. Police arrested the woman for investigation of rendering criminal assistance.

Disturbing the peace

Police responded to a report of a fight between several men at 7:11 p.m. April 20 near the Kent Transit Center in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue North.

Police arrested one man for investigation of disturbing the peace after they allegedly saw him rip a jacket off a man and push him to the ground, according to the police report.

The man arrested was one of five who were chasing the other man. All of the men were wearing gang attire, police said. The man who had been pushed to the ground told police he did not want to cooperate with officers by giving them any information about the incident.

Drive by shooting

Someone reportedly shot out the passenger-side window of an empty vehicle parked April 26 in the parking lot of a bar in the 800 block of Central Avenue South.

A man called police after he discovered the broken window in his vehicle at about 2 a.m. April 26. The vehicle had been parked in the spot for several hours. Nobody heard any gunshots, according to the police report.

A police officer saw a bullet hole in the passenger-side door of the vehicle. Because of the angle of the bullet hole, it appeared the bullet had been shot by someone along Central Avenue. The size of the bullet hole appeared to match a .38-caliber bullet, according to police.

Police had no suspects in connection with the shooting.
