{"id":12037,"date":"2014-01-02T11:24:03","date_gmt":"2014-01-02T19:24:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/fire-damages-west-hill-house-in-kent\/"},"modified":"2016-10-21T14:40:29","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T21:40:29","slug":"fire-damages-west-hill-house-in-kent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/fire-damages-west-hill-house-in-kent\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire damages West Hill house in Kent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>A house fire in the 25000 block of 20th Avenue South in Kent has been ruled accidental and caused by an electrical malfunction in the attic space wiring.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Firefighters from the Kent Fire Department RFA and South King Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the single-story house at 10:26 p.m. Jan. 1 on the West Hill when the residents noticed smoke coming from the roof, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The fire had burned undetected for quite a while, charring the roof trusses and discoloring the ceiling.
