The fall election cycle is fast approaching and King County Elections director Sherril Huff reminds voters of upcoming registration deadlines. Saturday, July 19 is the last day for mail in and online voter registrations and transfers for the August 19 Primary.<\/p>\n

New Washington voters have until Aug. 4 to register in-person to vote.<\/p>\n

King County Elections will have convenient office hours on Saturday, July 19 and Saturday, Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past six months, King County has processed nearly 237,900 new and updated voter registrations; 42 percent more than this time in 2004,\u201d Huff said. \u201cJudging by the incredible interest, we\u2019re expecting a record-setting turnout this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who can vote?<\/p>\n

To be eligible to vote, you must be:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Eighteen years old by August 19;<\/p>\n

\u2022 A United States citizen;<\/p>\n

\u2022 A resident of King County; and<\/p>\n

\u2022 Not presently denied your voting rights due to a felony conviction.<\/p>\n

How to register<\/p>\n

Registering to vote is easy– visit www.kingcounty.gov\/elections, fill out a registration form and mail it to King County Elections, postmarked by Saturday, July 19. Mail-in voter registrations are available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Cambodian, Korean, Laotian, Russian, and Vietnamese.<\/p>\n

You can also register to vote in person by visiting:<\/p>\n

\u2022 King County Elections\u2019 Renton office – open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 919 S.W. Grady Way.<\/p>\n

\u2022 One of King County\u2019s seven Community Service Centers; or,<\/p>\n

\u2022 A Washington State drivers license facility or other state government offices, including military recruitment and public assistance offices.<\/p>\n
