Knocks house off its foundation<\/b><\/p>\n

A car reportedly crashed into a Kent home Wednesday night, knocking the house off its foundations.<\/p>\n

Kent Fire Department emergency units arrived shortly after 7:15 p.m. Wednesday night, and found that an elderly couple in a sedan had gone off the road and hit the large mobile home at 26706 132nd Ave. S.E., according to Deputy Fire Marshal Don Barberie.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey hit it hard enough that it actually knocked (the house) off the blocks,\u201d said Barberie, adding that part of the house ended up resting on the car.<\/p>\n

Fire personnel spent nearly two hours extricating the car\u2019s driver and passenger \u2013 both in their 70s, and both injured \u2013 and removing the car from beneath the house, according to Barberie.<\/p>\n

The female passenger was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with a possible head injury. An ambulance transported the male driver to Harborview to treat assorted minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The residents of the house \u2013 two adults and three children \u2013 were home at the time of the accident, but were unharmed. They are staying with family locally until the status of the home has been determined.<\/p>\n
