{"id":11582,"date":"2016-08-18T10:35:23","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T17:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-family-avoids-injury-after-near-head-on-collision-outside-leavenworth\/"},"modified":"2016-10-23T23:10:27","modified_gmt":"2016-10-24T06:10:27","slug":"kent-family-avoids-injury-after-near-head-on-collision-outside-leavenworth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-family-avoids-injury-after-near-head-on-collision-outside-leavenworth\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent family avoids injury after near head-on collision outside Leavenworth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>A Kent family of four escaped injury after a driver in the opposite direction crossed the center line and struck their trailer while traveling along State Route 2, about 24 miles west of Leavenworth.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>A Kent couple and their two children, ages 3 and 1, were westbound at about 3:46 p.m. on Wednesday in a 2005 Ford F-250 with a trailer when a 1999 Toyota RAV4 traveling eastbound crossed the center line and struck the trailer, according to a State Patrol media release. The trailer began to fishtail and swung into the eastbound lane where it was struck by a third vehicle. The trailer came to a rest on its side and blocked all lanes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The driver of the Toyota, an 81-year-old Woodinville woman, reportedly fell asleep at the wheel. The State Patrol cited her for second-degree negligent driving.
