Then register to volunteer Earth Day April 23 at Park Orchard Park and Arbor Day April 30 at West Fenwick Park.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Individuals, families, service clubs, churches and anyone else interested can participate in the volunteer days from 9 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Park Orchard Park, 11058 S.E. 230th St., is in the Panther Lake area, which annexed to Kent in July. Volunteers will help remove weeds, plant trees and shrubs and prune.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>West Fenwick Park, 38224 Reith Road, is on the city&#8217;s West Hill. Volunteers will help remove invasive plants, lay mulch and plant trees.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Volunteers are encouraged to register at least three days before the events to assure a spot and help with planning.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>To sign up, call Victoria Andrews, parks special programs manager, at 253-856-5110 or e-mail vandrews@ci.kent.wa.us.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Want to help restore and maintain Kent parks?
