The King County Noxious Weed Control Board, a volunteer citizen board that oversees and guides the work of the County\u2019s Noxious Weed Program and sets the noxious weed list priorities for the County, has two openings.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The vacant board positions represent Weed District 2 in the Snoqualmie Valley area and Weed District 4 in the Renton\/Kent\/Auburn area. Farmers and other agricultural producers living in those areas are especially encouraged to apply<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Prevention, education and technical assistance are the keys to the Noxious Weed Control Program\u2019s success.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Noxious weeds are found everywhere in King County: in urban, suburban and rural areas; on developed and undeveloped land; in gardens, farmland, forests and natural areas, as well as in lakes, rivers, streams and in Puget Sound.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The noxious weed program’s mission is: To provide benefits to the environment, recreation, public health and economic resources of King County by preventing and minimizing harmful impacts of noxious weeds.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
