{"id":1133,"date":"2012-08-01T10:14:52","date_gmt":"2012-08-01T17:14:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiken.wpengine.com\/news\/kent-man-shot-in-neck-during-fight-in-burien\/"},"modified":"2016-10-22T12:20:26","modified_gmt":"2016-10-22T19:20:26","slug":"kent-man-shot-in-neck-during-fight-in-burien","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kentreporter.com\/news\/kent-man-shot-in-neck-during-fight-in-burien\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent man shot in neck during fight in Burien"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>A 26-year-old Kent man was shot in the neck during an altercation with another man Tuesday night in a Burien convenience store parking lot.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>The shooting occurred at about 11:30 p.m. near South 160th Street and First Avenue South, according to a King County Sheriff&#8217;s Office media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight and shots being fired in the parking lot of the store. When police arrived they found evidence of a shooting but the people involved had left.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Witnesses told police that two men had been fighting in the parking lot as a group of individuals watched. At some point during the fight handguns were pulled and gunfire exchanged.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Shortly after police arrived at the scene they were notified that a man had been dropped off at Highline Medical Center in Burien with a gunshot wound to the neck. The man was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was in serious condition Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Investigators are trying to determine what led up to the incident.
