A 26-year-old Kent man was shot in the neck during an altercation with another man Tuesday night in a Burien convenience store parking lot.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The shooting occurred at about 11:30 p.m. near South 160th Street and First Avenue South, according to a King County Sheriff’s Office media release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched to a report of a fight and shots being fired in the parking lot of the store. When police arrived they found evidence of a shooting but the people involved had left.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Witnesses told police that two men had been fighting in the parking lot as a group of individuals watched. At some point during the fight handguns were pulled and gunfire exchanged.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Shortly after police arrived at the scene they were notified that a man had been dropped off at Highline Medical Center in Burien with a gunshot wound to the neck. The man was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was in serious condition Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Investigators are trying to determine what led up to the incident. As of Wednesday morning, they were unable to get information from the injured man.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
