The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-4 Sunday night in a preseason game at the Comcast Arena in Everett.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This was the T-Birds second game at the Everett Silvertips Preseason Tournament. They lost 5-3 to the Spokane Chiefs on Friday in their first game of the tournament.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds opened the scoring at 4:37 of the first period on a power-play goal from Marcel Noebels. Connor Sanvido and Burke Gallimore assisted on Noebels second goal of the preseason.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett took a 3-1 lead after one period on a natural hat trick from Josh Winquist. Winquist scored at 7:53, 13:18 and 16:51 of the first period. His second goal was a power-play goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The Silvertips scored three more times in the second period to open up a 6-1 lead over the T-Birds. Tyler Maxwell had goals 43 seconds into the second period and at the 3:47 mark. Cody Fowlie scored at 11:44 of the second to give the Tips a five-goal lead.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Gallimore scored a power-play goal at 19:53 of the second, just before the period ended, to get the T-Birds second goal of the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Kyle Verdino scored two goals in less than two minutes to get the T-Birds to within two goals of Everett. He scored a power-play goal at 6:04 of the third and then an even strength goal at 7:59. Brendan Rouse and Justin Hickman assisted on Verdino’s first goal and Shea Theodore and Noebels assisted on the second goal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett’s Darian Henry scored at 8:27 of the third to get their seventh goal of the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everett outshot Seattle 38-32 in the game.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Michael Salmon started in net for Seattle and made 13 saves on 19 shots. Michael Cotton replaced Salmon halfway through the second period. Cotton stopped 18 of 19 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Andy Desautels started for Everett and he made 15 saves on 16 shots before being replaced by Luke Siemens. Siemens stopped 13 of 16 shots.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds will travel to Kennewick for two games at the Red Lion Hotels’ Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. On Friday, September 9, the T-Birds will face the Chiefs at 3 p.m. On Saturday, September 10, the T-Birds will play the Silvertips at 11a.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds travel to Portland to take on the Winterhawks on Friday, September 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Winterhawks Skating Center.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The preseason schedule ends on Saturday, September 17, when the T-Birds host the Silvertips at 7:05 p.m. at ShoWare Center. Single game tickets for the home preseason game will go on sale August 25.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The T-Birds will open the 2011-12 regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 24 at 7:05 p.m.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2011-12 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
