It took a man’s mother to persuade him to drop a knife after he refused a command from a Kent Police officer with his gun drawn to put the knife down.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Officers arrested a man for investigation of malicious mischief and obstructing after he allegedly slashed the tires on his brother’s motorcycle and then tried to walk away from officers while carrying a kitchen knife of about 10 inches in length, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Police responded to a dispute between two brothers, including one with a knife, on Oct. 10 at a house in the 25300 block of 121st Place Southeast. An officer arrived and saw a man walking along 121st Place Southeast carrying a knife.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The officer exited his vehicle, pulled out his gun, ordered the man to stop walking toward him and told him to drop the knife. The man reportedly ignored the command, kept walking toward the officer and refused to drop the knife.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The man then turned away from the officer and walked another direction. By that time, more officers had arrived to surround the man. But the man didn’t drop the knife until his mother showed up at the scene moments later and told him to put it down. Police then took the man into custody without incident.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Assault<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly chocked a woman at about 4:24 p.m. Oct. 13 in the 26800 block of 109th Avenue Southeast.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The man and woman were neighbors at a mental health facility that treats people for various conditions as outpatients, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The woman told police the man would give her rides in his vehicle to go shopping but lately had complained about giving her rides and reportedly became upset with her.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n After the two argued, the man allegedly grabbed the woman with two hands around her neck before leaving the scene. The woman did not pass out from the hold. A witness saw the incident and also reported the man had grabbed the woman around the neck.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The man told officers he had argued with the woman about the rides to the store but he denied he chocked her.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Obstructing<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Officers arrested a woman for investigation of obstructing and a forgery warrant on Oct. 12 at an apartment in the 10900 block of Southeast 255th Place.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n A witness called 911 to report an argument between a man and a woman at the apartment complex, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n When officers arrived at the unit they talked to the woman outside of the apartment. Police determined nothing physical had occurred between the woman and her boyfriend. But officers found out the woman had a King County warrant for forgery.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The woman told police she needed to go back inside the apartment. When an officer told her she needed to stay where she was, the woman began to struggle with police. It took three officers to take the woman into custody.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Theft<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Police cited a woman for investigation of theft after she allegedly took three carbon dioxide monitors on Oct. 10 from Home Depot, 26120 104th Ave. S.E.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Store security reported seeing the woman place three monitors in her purse and then leave the store without paying for the items, according to the police report.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The woman admitted to police she took the items.
