Apna Dhaba Indian restaurant opened its doors this past week at 415 Central Ave., the site of the old Clay Oven.<\/p>\n
The new restaurant takes its name from the Indian words \u201cOur Place.\u201d According to new manager John Gonsalves, in India a \u201cdhaba\u201d is a small restaurant that functions like a truck stop.<\/p>\n
With new management, new owners and a new menu, the restaurant promises authentic Indian cuisine.<\/p>\n
According to the owners, the new menu features food from all over India, whereas the former restaurant focused primarily on the Northern Indian cuisine. Chef Floriano Fernandes has more than 36 years experience cooking all around the world and recommends the chicken badam pasanda.<\/p>\n
Special requests are also available, as is space for parties or other functions.<\/p>\n
The new restaurant is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and again from 4:30 to 10 p.m. for dinner, Tuesday through Sunday.<\/p>\n
