KENTLAKE SUMMER CAMP

BASEBALL

KENTLAKE SUMMER CAMP

This camp is scheduled for July 25-27 at Kentlake High School. Players ages 7-9 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon; players ages 10-12 meet from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $100, which includes a T-shirt, hat, and a barbecue meal on the final day. More information: www.kentlakefalconsbaseball.com.

BASKETBALL

RECREATIONAL PLAYERS NEEDED

Mature recreational players are needed for a group that gathers on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday basis at noon in the Kent area. It’s strictly for fun and exercise. More information: e-mail to kknapp@rei.com.

WATERLAND 3-ON-3 STREETBALL

This tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 12 on the blacktop at the Des Moines Marina. Multiple divisions are offered for players of all ages and abilities. CAMPS

MEGA SPORTS CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 4 through sixth grade is scheduled for July 14-18 at Faith Baptist Church, 25636 140th Ave. S.E. in Kent. The cost is a suggested donation of $10 per athlete. It includes a T-shirt, sports bag, water bottle, crafts. and athlete finals medal (while supplies last). The camp will allow kids to try out and train in three action-packed recreational sports each night, from beginner to advanced. UNDEFEATED SPORTS CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 8-12 will offer a choice of soccer, basketball OR cheerleading. It is scheduled for July 28-Aug. 1 at Kent Covenant Church, 12010 S.E. 240th St. in Kent. GOFAST SPEED CAMP

These four-day camps take place at Kentridge High School, and are open to boys and girls ages 10-18 in all sports. The focus will be on developing speed, agility, quickness, running technique, injury prevention, and linear and lateral movement. FOOTBALL

KENT PARKS ADULT FLAG LEAGUE

Registration is open for this pass-only league. An eight-game schedule will be played on Sundays and/or Wednesday evenings from September through November. The team entry fee is $345, and the roster fee is $245, both of which are due by Aug 11. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

SAILING

RENTON SAILING CLUB CLASSES

A four-session INTRO TO BASIC SAILING class will be offered on Wednesdays, with classes now under way, and the last series beginning Sept. 3. It is open to ages 9 and older. Instruction will be offered in how to rig and sail a small dinghy, all within a confined area. The cost is $32 for Renton residents and $38 for non-residents. SOCCER

KENT PARKS YOUTH SOCCER

Leagues for boys and girls in Pre-K through Grade 6 are forming. Leagues are formed by grades, with Pre-K and K/1st playing coed, and all others (Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) having separate boys and girls leagues. The registration fee is $40 through Aug. 5, and $45 thereafter. Players for the Pre-K league must be at least 3 years old as of Aug. 31, 2008. More information: Kent Parks (253) 856-5000.

BRITISH SOCCER CAMP

This camp for players ages 4-16 is scheduled for July 21-25 at Lea Hill Elementary School, 30908 124th Ave. S.E. in Auburn. Sessions will include mini-soccer for ages 4-5 from 9-10:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m.-12:10 p.m., with a cost of $77 for either session; half-day sessions for ages 6-16 from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., with a cost of $99 for either session, and a full-day session for ages 10-16 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at a cost of $150. TENNIS

KENT PARKS SUMMER LESSONS

Lessons for youths and adults will be offered during July and August at Kent-Meridian High School, and in September at Garrison Creek Park. The cost for eight sessions is $50. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

COVINGTON COMMUNITY SPORTS SUMMER PROGRAMS

Instruction for all ages and skill levels will be offered throughout the summer on the courts at Cedar Heights Middle School, 19640 S.E. 272nd St. Sessions will be offered for MUNCKINS (ages 3-5), BEGINNERS (ages 6-8 and 9-13), INTERMEDIATES (ages 6-8 and 9-13), BEGINNER ADULT (ages 14 and older) and INTERMEDIATE ADULT (ages 14 and older). The instructor for all classes is Stephen Johnson, a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Registry. KIDS TENNIS CAMPS

KENTLAKE CAMP

This camp for players entering grades 3-9 is scheduled for July 14-17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the first three days and 9 a.m.-noon the final day, all in the gym at Kentlake High, 21401 S.E. 300th St. The camp will be conducted by Kentlake head coach Shawna Behrens, along with members of the Falcons varsity and junior varsity. KENT PARKS JUNIOR GIRLS LEAGUE
