Glenn loses in Pro Stock quarterfinals at Pacific Raceways in Kent

Dallas Glenn had hoped for a victory in his return to Pacific Raceways in Kent for the 34th Flav-R-Pac National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Northwest Nationals.

Glenn, 31, who grew up in Covington and graduated from Kentwood High School, won his first race but lost in the quarterfinals of the Pro Stock division drag races July 29-31. He had the seventh fastest qualifying mark.

“Quarterfinal finish for the RAD Torque Systems #Camaro!” Glenn posted on Facebook. “Really wanted a win in front of the home crowd but nothings gonna wipe the smile off our face after the RAD sponsorship extension. Pro Stock is life!”

Glenn, who was the 2021 NHRA Rookie of the Year, posted on July 30 that RAD Torque Systems announced it would sponsor him for a minimum of two more years.

“Dan and Tammy Provost are the racer’s racer,” Glenn said about the sponsorship. “Thank you so much for your continued belief in our team! We love you guys.”

This marked the first appearance for Glenn as a pro at Pacific Raceways. He lives in Mooresville, North Carolina.

“It’s kind of surreal running Pro Stock at Pacific Raceways,” Glenn posted on Facebook. “Running Pro Stock, especially here, has been a dream since I was a little kid and here we are. Really cool!”

Glenn lost to Erica Enders in the quarterfinals. Enders had a time of 6.594 seconds to 6.663 for Glenn. Glenn had the starting line advantage, but Enders chased him down just past half track to take the win.

Enders advanced to the championship, where she lost to Troy Coughlin Jr., who grabbed his first career win.

Glenn defeated Matt Hartford in round one with a time of 6.617 and a high speed of 206.10 mph. Glenn had the starting line advantage and held on for the victory.

The Northwest Nationals was the 13th race in the 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. There are only a few races left before the “Countdown to the Championship” in September, where the top 10 drivers in their class advance to the final championship.

Glenn ranks fifth in the points standings. Enders is first.
