GRAND SLAM CAMPS

These camps are for players ages 6-12, and are staffed by local high school coaches and current college players who teach fundamentals in a fun, upbeat environment. Camps are scheduled for July 7-10 at Daffodil Park in Sumner, July 14-17 at Petrovitsky Park in Renton, and July 21-24 at South County Ballfield Park in Federal Way. The cost is $99. REc PLAYERS NEEDED

4SLAM ARENA TOURNAMENT

This tournament is open to men and women of all ages. It is scheduled for June 27-29 at the South Sound Athletics gym, 2450 S. 142nd St. in SeaTac. This modified full-court game is 4-on-4 with 8-foot hoops for junior and women, 9-foot hoops for men, 2-, 3- and 4-point lines, points for fouls, a continuous clock, a no-dribble zone, no free throws, and four points for dunks. KENTLAKE BOYS HOOP CAMP

This camp for players who will be entering grades 2-9 is scheduled for June 24-27 at Kentlake High School, 21401 S.E. 300th St. It will be directed by Kentlake coaches Ron Charrier and Jeff Martin. The cost is $100 thereafter, and includes a camp T-shirt and basketball. In addition to individual and group instruction, campers will participate in 5-on-5 games, hot-shot competition, free throw contests and other activities. KENT DRAGON BOAT ASSN.

The association is inviting anyone interested in paddling a 48-foot dragon boat to Lake Meridian in Kent on Saturdays (before 8 a.m.) and Tuesdays (6 p.m.) through mid October. These four-day camps take place at Kentridge High School, and are open to boys and girls ages 10-18 in all sports. The focus will be on developing speed, agility, quickness, running technique, injury prevention, and linear and lateral movement. KARNEY’S 44 KIDS CAMP

This one-day non-contact camp for boys and girls ages 7-14 is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at French Field on the Kent-Meridian High School campus. The cost is $75 per camper, and includes lunch, water and a camp T-shirt. Campers should wear T-shirts and shorts, and tennis shoes or rubber cleats only. No previous football experience is required. Instructors will be a group of NFL players, including former Kentwood High star and current New Orleans Saints fullback Mike Karney, as well as local high school and junior high coaches. PUGET SOUND CAMP

This camp is for players who will be entering grades 4-9 in the fall. It is scheduled for June 30-July 3 at French Field. It is a non-contact camp and runs from 9 a.m.-noon each day. It will be directed by Kentridge High head coach Marty Osborn, and coaches from Kentridge and other area high schools and junior highs, as well as current Kentridge seniors and former players now in college. KENT CHAMBER GOLF CLASSIC

The 30th annual edition of this tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 14, at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn. BRITISH SOCCER CAMP

This camp for players ages 4-16 is scheduled for July 21-25 at Lea Hill Elementary School, 30908 124th Ave. S.E. in Auburn.
