Parker came through the left circle, cut around Chilliwack goalie Mark Friesen and beat him with a forehand. Parker’s second goal of the season, scored on his birthday, was unassisted. Seattle outshot Chilliwack 15-12 in the first period.

The Bruins took the lead at 9:14 of the second period on a goal by Ryan Howse. Seattle outshot Chilliwack 13-8 in the second period. Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard made 27 saves on 31 shots and his record is now 1-3-0-0.

Winterhawks defeat T-Birds Sept. 26

The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Thunderbirds 6-1 Saturday night at Memorial Coliseum in Portland.

Portland outshot Seattle 11-4 in a scoreless first period.The T-Birds tied the game at 17:08 of the second. Jonathan Parker had the puck behind the Portland goal. He centered the puck to Prab Rai in the high slot. Rai cradled the puck and then put a quick snap shot on goal that beat Winterhawks goalie Kurtis Mucha. Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres made 29 saves on 35 shots and his record is now 0-2-0-0.
