T-Birds trade Lund to Swift Current for draft pick

Seattle Thunderbirds traded left wing Chance Lund to the Swift Current Broncos for a sixth-round pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft, team general manager Russ Farwell announced today.

Seattle Thunderbirds traded left wing Chance Lund to the Swift Current Broncos for a sixth-round pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft, team general manager Russ Farwell announced today.

“We have an excess number of 20-year-olds this year,” Farwell said. “This trade provides a good opportunity for Chance to play. He has been a positive member of our team and we wish him the best of luck in Swift Current.”

Last season Lund had a career-high 32 points on 15 goals and 17 assists. In his four year career with Seattle, Lund has appeared in 258 games and has 57 career points on 27 goals and 30 assists.

The Thunderbirds open their preseason schedule with two games at the Everett Silvertips preseason tournament at Comcast Arena this weekend. The T-Birds play the Portland Winterhawks at 3 p.m. Friday, and the Spokane Chiefs at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The T-Birds open the regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at ShoWare Center on Sept. 22. Face-off is 7:05 p.m.

T-Birds’ single-game tickets are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
