T-Birds trade Green to Brandon for conditional draft pick

Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has traded defenseman Taylor Green to the Brandon Wheat Kings for a conditional fifth-round selection in the 2014 Bantam Draft.

Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has traded defenseman Taylor Green to the Brandon Wheat Kings for a conditional fifth-round selection in the 2014 Bantam Draft.

Green had seven points on two goals and five assists with 53 penalty minutes in 65 games last season for the T-Birds. In 69 games over three seasons with the T-Birds he had three goals and five assists for eight points with 53 penalty minutes.

Green was the T-Birds’ second-round selection, 26th overall, in the 2010 Bantam Draft.

New season looms

The T-Birds kick off the Western Hockey League regular season against the WHL champion Portland on Saturday, Sept. 21. Face-off is 7:05 p.m. at the ShoWare Center.

The T-Birds have launched the Buy A Group Get A Group Promotion for opening night against the Winterhawks. If you purchase 20 or more group tickets to the opener, you will receive the same amount of tickets to a non-Saturday game in October or November of this season for free. T-Birds single-game tickets for the 2013-14 regular season will go on sale on Wednesday, Aug. 21 on the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office.
