Kent-based Seattle Thunderbirds goaltender Thomas Milic will attend the NHL’s Seattle Kraken training camp as a free agent.
“As an organization, we are really happy for Thomas as this is well-deserved recognition,” said T-Birds general manager Bil La Forge in an Aug. 25 press release. “I am confident he will do very well in his time with the Kraken.”
Milic joins six other T-Birds heading to NHL camps this season. Henrik Rybinski at the Edmonton Oilers camp, Matthew Rempe with the New York Rangers, Tyrel Bauer with the Winnipeg Jets, Conner Roulette with the Dallas Stars, Lucas Ciona with the Calgary Flames and Jeremy Hanzel with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The T-Birds start the 2021-2022 Western Hockey League regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
The home opener is at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, against the Winterhawks at accesso ShoWare Center.
