The Kent-based Tacoma Stars have signed Brazil native and MASL veteran Sanaldo Carvalho to an agreement for the 2018-19 Major Arena Soccer League season.
Per team and League policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
After playing outdoor soccer in his native Brazil, Sanaldo began his indoor career with the Kansas City Comets in January of 2003. He finished his first season 6-2 and was named to the MISL All-Rookie Team.
Sanaldo also lists stops with the Baltimore Blast, California Cougars, Wichita Wings, and Detroit Ignition on his indoor soccer resume. As a member of the Ignition, Sanaldo captured a MISL Championship title.
With the recent injury to Stars keeper Danny Waltman, Sanaldo’s experience will be key.
“I’m very happy that Sanaldo is joining the Stars. He’s a quality goalkeeper with unique experience and we can’t wait to see him in action,” said Tacoma coach Nick Perera.
The Stars continue their road trip on Friday, Feb. 1 when they visit the El Paso (Texas) Coyotes. Kickoff is 5:15 p.m. (MASL.tv).
The Stars’ next home action comes on Sunday, Feb. 17 against the Pacific Division leading San Diego Sockers. Kickoff is 5:05 pm.
