The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 in overtime Saturday night at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

Seattle is now 21-32-7-1 and in seventh place in the Western Conference playoff standings with 50 points. The Silvertips are one point behind the T-Birds in the standings with a 22-35-1-4 record.

The T-Birds travel to Vancouver to take on the Giants at Pacific Coliseum at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Everett took a 1-0 lead on a five-on-three power-play goal at 11:04 of the first period by Tyler Sandhu. Josh Winquist and Landon Oslanski had the assists.

Seattle outshot Everett 11-10 in thefirst period.

Sandhu scored a second five-on-three power-play goal at 19:16 of the second period to extend Everett’s lead to 2-0. Oslanski and Winquist were credited with the assists.

The T-Birds led 19-17 in shots after two periods by outshooting the Silvertips 8-7 in the second period.

The Thunderbirds got on the board 2:13 into the third period on the power play to make it a 2-1 Everett lead. Shea Theodore skated the puck up the right boards into the Everett zone and cut inside at the blueline. He let a hard wrist shot go that beat Lotz low to his stick side for his 16th goal of the season. The goal was unassisted.

Seattle then tied the game 2-2 off a faceoff in the Silvertips zone coming at the 11:54 mark of the period. Alexander Delnov won the faceoff back to Griffin Foulk, who fired a shot through traffic. Lotz couldn’t do much to stop the puck going in for Foulk’s second goal of the year.

The game headed to overtime with the T-Birds outshooting the Silvertips 17-8 in the third period.

Mirco Mueller scored the game-winning goal for the Silvertips at 2:07 of the overtime period. Oslanski had the only assist on the goal.
