Seattle U to play Feb. 1 at ShoWare Center in Kent

Against California Baptist in Western Athletic Conference game

The Seattle University men’s basketball team will play California Baptist in a Western Athletic Conference (WAC) showdown at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent. Doors open at noon.

Seattle closed out its conference road swing with a thrilling 86-79 win at CSU Bakersfield last Saturday. The Redhawks (11-11, 4-3 WAC) led for more than 30 minutes and utilized a strong second half surge along with free-throw shooting late to earn their first win in Bakersfield since the 2010-11 season.

Terrell Brown paced four Redhawks who scored in double-figures, finishing with 21 points, including 17 in the second half. Morgan Means added 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds for his first career point-rebound double-double. Mattia Da Campo added 14 points and Riley Grigsby chipped in 13.

California Baptist (14-6, 4-2) is tied for second place in the WAC. Seattle is in fourth place.

Seattle is playing a few games in Kent this season as its former KeyArena home is rebuilt for a NHL team, scheduled to begin play in 2021. The Redhawks play Kansas City in a WAC game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.
