The Kent-based Seattle Thunderbirds added wing Connor Honey to the roster Thursday.
“Connor is a positive addition to our roster and he will help us this season,” said Russ Farwell, T-Birds general manager, in a team media release. “We look forward to watching him develop and grow his game with us.”
Honey started the season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. He played in 17 games for the Gamblers and had seven points on one goal and six assists.
Last year, Honey played for the Edmonton South Side Athletic team in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. He led the league in scoring with 56 points on 24 goals and 32 assists in 34 games. The South Side Athletic team won the prestigious Mac’s Midget Tournament last year.
Honey, a 17-year-old center/right wing from Edmonton, attended the T-Birds training camp prior to this season.
The T-Birds (11-14-0-1 record) play the Prince George Cougars (10-19-0-2) at 7:35 p.m. Friday at the ShoWare Center and are home again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday against the Victoria Royals (12-18-1-1).
