Ben Woods threw for 328 yards and four touchdowns as Kent-Meridian defeated rival Kentridge 31-9 in a South Puget Sound League Northeast 4A game Friday night at French Field.

The surging Royals improved to 2-0 in the division, 4-1 overall. The Chargers dropped to 0-2 and 0-5.

Kent-Meridian jumped out a 28-3 lead at halftime.

Woods, a sophomore, completed 17 of 31 passes.

K-M”s Emmanuel Daigbe caught five passes, three of them TDs, for 114 yards. Armani Reese hauled in five passes for 121 yards and another TD.

Shamar Malik Woolery rushed for 62 yards.

For Kentridge, Malik McFerrin completed 20 of 34 passes for 131 yards. He scored the Chargers’ only touchdown on an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.

K-M hosts Tahoma next Saturday at 6:05 p.m. Kentridge takes on Kentlake at 7 p.m. next Friday at French Field.
