The city of Kent will reopen its Riverbend Golf Complex on Tuesday, May 5, under new guidelines released by Gov. Jay Inslee to allow recreational golf.
“We have worked hard to ensure we are compliant with the governor’s reopening requirements and are providing the safest possible environment for our staff and valued guests,” City Parks officials said.
Tee times can be booked over the phone or online. If booking over the phone, prepare for wait times as the course will have limited staffing until May 5.
The city closed Riverbend on March 24 because of Inslee’s orders to stay at home and that only essential businesses should remain open during the COVID-19 outbreak. But Inslee changed the order starting next week to allow people to play golf, with social distancing guidelines.
Tee times will only be accepted for twosomes. Single players will be asked if they want to be paired for pace of play. Only credit and debit payments will be accepted, no cash payments until further notice.
Golf carts will be restricted to one rider per cart, unless a minor is playing. No rental clubs will be available.
Flag sticks will remain in at all times. All benches, bunker rakes and ball washers have been removed.
Staff will regularly sanitize counter tops, door knobs, carts, common areas and all other frequently touched surfaces.
