Kent-Meridian High School’s Sophia Collins, volleyball, was selected as the Kent Reporter’s Female Athlete of the Week for Sept. 7.
Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
A: Video production, math, social studies
Q: What other activities do you participate in?
A: Horseback riding, watching movies, spending time with family
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: Mom and dad.
Q: Do you have a pre- or postgame tradition? What is it?
A: My grandparents come to all my games, so we always go out to dinner after games.
Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?
A: “Solo”
From the Sideline
Sophia is a three-year varsity volleyball player. She has a 3.992 GPA. Last year she received honorable mention honors as a setter in the NPSL. She is also a part of the 12-member drill team in WAHSET (Washington High School Equestrian Team), which took second at state last spring but on the regional competition in July
