BASEBALL

KENT PARKS BOYS PROGRAM

This program is for boys in grades 7-12. The cost is $55. Teams will play a jamboree on May 14, followed by a 10-game league schedule from late May through early July. Divisions are offered for Grades 7-8, 9-10 and 11-12. Players will be placed on teams in their grade and school area. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

KENT PARKS/SKYHAWKS CAMP

PEPSI PITCH, HIT & RUN

TRIPLE PLAY BASEBALL CLUB

Players ages 12-18with a passion for baseball and a desire to take their game to the next level are invited to a workout with Triple Play baseball Club. More information: (253) 249-9359.

SHARP BASEBALL DEVELOPMENT

AUBURN PARKS YOUTH FISHING DERBY

This derby is set for Saturday May 2, from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Mill Pond Park, 600 Oravetz Rd. S.E., across from Auburn Riverside High School. It is open to boys and girls age 14 and under. W. WASHINGTON WALLEYE CLUB

GOLF

2-MAN AT THE BEND

This tournament at Riverbend Golf Course in Kent is scheduled for June 13-14. The team entry fee is $300. Competition is 36 holes of better ball play. It is open to players with an established and verifiable USGA handicap index. The deadline for paying entry fees is June 11. A Skins Game is set for Friday, June 12, from noon-1:30 p.m. The entry fee for that event is $20, along with the green fees. HOCKEY

BEGINNERS PROGRAM

The Sno-King Junior Thunderbirds will offer a year-round, beginners-level program for boys and girls ages 5-10. No skating experience is necessary. The program will be on Saturdays at Castle Ice in the Renton Highlands, or at Kingsgate Ice Arena in Kirkland. Players are welcome to join at any time. ICE SKATING

LEARN TO SKATE CLASSES

An eight-week series with group and private lessons for boys, girls and adults is being offered at KENT VALLEY ICE CENTRE. Instruction is based on criteria set forth by the Ice Skating Institute. Skating classes are a solid starting point for those interested in figure skating or hockey. The facility is located at 6015 S. 240th St. in Kent. LAP SWIMS are offered M-W-F from 5:30-7 a.m.; Sunday through Saturday from noon-1 p.m.; Monday and Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and 8:30-9:30 p.m., and Friday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. PUBLIC SWIMS are Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.; Saturday from 1-2 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. and Sunday from 1-2 p.m. PUBLIC SWIMS WITHOUT THE SLIDE are Friday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. SHALLOW-END ONLY PUBLIC SWIMS are Monday through Friday from noon-1 p.m. SHALLOW-END ONLY FAMILY SWIMS (under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) are Friday from 5:30-6:30 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from noon-1 p.m. HALF-HOUR LESSONS are offered on a Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday basis from 4-7:30 p.m. in four-week sessions. KENT PARKS YOUTH CLASSES

Classes for boys and girls ages 4-7 will be offered on the racquetball courts at Kent Commons from April 14-30. Players ages 4-5 will meet from 6-6:35 p.m.; players ages 6-7 will meet from 6:40-7:15 p.m. The focus will be on basics and fun. All classes will be taught by USTA certified instructor Steve Walters.
