KENTLAKE SUMMER CAMP

BASEBALL

KENTLAKE SUMMER CAMP

This camp is scheduled for July 25-27 at Kentlake High School. Players ages 7-9 will meet from 9 a.m.-noon; players ages 10-12 meet from 1-4 p.m. The cost is $100, which includes a T-shirt, hat, and a barbecue meal on the final day. More information: www.kentlakefalconsbaseball.com.

MID-SOUND 12-BRONCO TRYOUTS

The Mid-Sound Pony Pilots will conduct a 12U team that will be affiliated with the Kent Bulldogs. Tryouts will take place July 10-11 at Saghalie Junior High, 33914 19th Ave. S.W. in Federal Way, from 6-7:30 p.m. both days. Pitchers and catchers are asked to attend both days. Make-up tryouts, or tryouts by appointment will take place July 15. Exceptional 11U players are welcome to attend, but preference will be given to league age 12 players. (League age is determined by the actual age as of April 30, 2009.) The team serves all of South King County, with home fields in Federal Way, Renton and Maple Valley/Black Diamond. BASKETBALL

KENTWOOD GIRLS CAMPS

The Lady Conks camp for girls entering grades 3-10 is scheduled for July 8-10 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day at Kentwood High School, 25800 164th Ave. S.E. It will be directed by Kentwood head coach Keith Hennig, his assistants, along with current and former players. The cost is $85, and includes a T-shirt and a basketball. A one-day BALL HANDLING AND SHOOTING CAMP will take place at Kentwood on July 11 with Coach Hennig along with former Kentwood and current Gonzaga University star Courtney Vandersloot. The camp goes from 9 a.m.-1 p.m The cost is $50 and includes a T-shirt and instruction booklet. CAMPS

GOFAST SPEED CAMP

These four-day camps take place at Kentridge High School, and are open to boys and girls ages 10-18 in all sports. The focus will be on developing speed, agility, quickness, running technique, injury prevention, and linear and lateral movement. MEGA SPORTS CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 4 through sixth grade is scheduled for July 14-18 at Faith Baptist Church, 25636 140th Ave. S.E. in Kent. The cost is a suggested donation of $10 per athlete. It includes a T-shirt, sports bag, water bottle, crafts. and athlete finals medal (while supplies last). The camp will allow kids to try out and train in three action-packed recreational sports each night, from beginner to advanced. The camp concludes with a family and block party (open to the community) from 6-9 p.m. on July 18. More information: (253) 631-0990, ext. 35.

KENT ADULT LEAGUE

FOOTBALL

KENT PARKS ADULT FLAG LEAGUE

Registration is open for this pass-only league. An eight-game schedule will be played on Sundays and/or Wednesday evenings from September through November. The team entry fee is $345, and the roster fee is $245, both of which are due by Aug 11. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

GOLF

KENT CHAMBER GOLF CLASSIC

The 30th annual edition of this tournament is scheduled for Monday, July 14, at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn. Play goes from noon-9 p.m. Players will be encouraged to dress up in the colors of their favorite college team (within Washington National’s dress code.) SPONSORS are desired. SOCCER

KENT PARKS YOUTH SOCCER

Leagues for boys and girls in Pre-K through Grade 6 are forming. Leagues are formed by grades, with Pre-K and K/1st playing coed, and all others (Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) having separate boys and girls leagues. The registration fee is $40 through Aug. 5, and $45 thereafter. Players for the Pre-K league must be at least 3 years old as of Aug. 31, 2008. More information: Kent Parks (253) 856-5000.

TENNIS

KENT PARKS SUMMER LESSONS

Lessons for youths and adults will be offered during July and August at Kent-Meridian High School, and in September at Garrison Creek Park. The cost for eight sessions is $50. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

MR. G’s SUMMER DAY CAMP

This camp for boys and girls ages 5-17 will take place Monday through Thursday throughout the summer at Kentridge and Kentlake high schools. More information: Kent Parks at (253) 856-5000.

VOLLEYBALL

KENTLAKE CAMP

This camp for players entering grades 3-9 is scheduled for July 14-17 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. the first three days and 9 a.m.-noon the final day, all in the gym at Kentlake High, 21401 S.E. 300th St. The camp will be conducted by Kentlake head coach Shawna Behrens, along with members of the Falcons varsity and junior varsity. KENT PARKS JUNIOR GIRLS LEAGUE
