Sport: Gymnastics.
Accomplishment: Hoekman posted a 9.225 on her floor routine at the district meet, thus earning a berth to state this weekend.
Favorite class: Drama.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Kristen Wig from Saturday Night Live. She is my idol! My dream is to be on Saturday Night Life. I’d definitely serve pizza.
Greatest athletic moment: Right after I finished my floor routine at sub-districts. I knew I nailed it.

Sport: Wrestling.
Accomplishment: Torres won a pair of matches at the Class 4A Region III tournament en route to taking second place overall in the 152-pound bracket and clinch a state berth.
Favorite class: English.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite (actress) Rachel McAdams to any food, mostly because she’s my future wife.
Greatest athletic moment: Making it to state this year after not having a winning record last year (5-17).

SOPHIA CHI, Kentwood
Grade: Senior.
Sport: Wrestling.
Accomplishment: Chi won four of five matches at the regional tournament and finished in third place in the 103-pound weight class to clinch a berth to this weekend’s state tournament.
Favorite class: Psychology.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Channing Tatum. I would serve ribs.
Greatest athletic moment: When I got the “Best Match” award at Emerald Ridge.

MARTEL TAYLOR-BARONE, Kent-Meridian
Grade: Sophomore.
Sport: Basketball.
Accomplishment: Taylor-Barone recorded his third straight double-digit performance, scoring 15 points in a 76-67 loss to Federal Way at the sub-district tournament.
Favorite class: Japanese.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite my mom, and I would serve Chinese food.
Greatest athletic moment: My greatest athletic moment would probably be my last few games. I have been playing with high energy and aggressiveness.
