Grade: Senior.
Sport: Swimming.
Favorite class: AP Statistics.
Accomplishment: Whiting, who attends The Overlake School but swims at Kentridge, qualified for state in the 200 IM during a victory over Kentlake last week. It’s the sixth event Whiting has already qualified for state in.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I’d invite Taylor Swift (obviously) and serve prime rib, chocolate milk, and all you can eat French toast.
Greatest athletic moment: Swimming at state as a freshman. I was small and my swimming wasn’t anything spectacular, but it was cool to be on the deck with all the guys that I looked up to.
What’s currently playing on your iPod: “Meadows” by Joe Walsh.
Most current book read/author: “Night” by Elie Wiesel.
In 10 years I will be …: Living it up on a beach in Mexico with my dog and my surfboard! But only on the weekends … I want to pursue a career that revolves around finance and statistics.
Also noted: Whiting loves to play the guitar, is involved in his church’s youth group and plans on attending college somewhere in Southern California.
ERIK FULMER, Kentlake
Grade: Sophomore.
Sport: Swimming.
Favorite class: Physics.
Accomplishment: Fulmer, one of Kentlake’s top swimmers, qualified for state in the 200 IM during a meet against Kentridge last week.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Chuck Norris to dinner. We would eat a bowl of nails without any milk.
Greatest athletic moment: Competing at state last year.
Favorite movie: Care Bears’ First Christmas.

Most current book read/author: “Twilight: New Moon,” by Stephenie Meyer.
In 10 years I will be …: Doin’ what I do.
Also noted: Fulmer also plays water polo, runs, and swims for King Aquatic Club.
KATIE STECKLER, Kentlake
Grade: Junior.
Sport: Gymnastics.
Favorite class: Sports Medicine.
Accomplishment: Steckler took third in the all-around, third on bars and third on vault during a four-team meet last week that also included Mount Rainier, Emerald Ridge and Kent-Meridian.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Shawn Johnson and (I would serve) Italian food.
Greatest athletic moment: Being the only one in the Kent School District to qualify for state in all four events last year.
Favorite movie: The Notebook.
What’s currently playing on your iPod: All kinds of music.
In 10 years I will be …: Maybe a sports medicine doctor or physical therapy.
Also noted: Steckler also is a competitive gymnast at Hart’s Gymnastics Center and has been competing for nine years.
AUBREYANA ANDERSON, K-M
Grade: Junior.
Sport: Basketball.
Accomplishment: Anderson, a guard/forward, scored a season-high 17 points in a narrow, 52-50, loss to Kentlake last week.
JAMES HATFIELD, Kentwood
Grade: Junior.
Sport: Wrestling.
Accomplishment: Hatfield, competing at 215-pounds, ripped off five straight wins, including four pins to secure the title in the Battle at the Border tournament in Blaine.
