ABRIA JONES
Kent-Meridian
Grade: Senior.
Sport: Track & Field.
Accomplishment: Jones brought home a pair of victories from last week’s meet against Kentridge, snagging the top spot in both the shot put (33-feet, 3-inches) and the discus (99-0) in leading the Royals past the Chargers 111-39.
Favorite class: IB Biology.
If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: If I could have anyone over for dinner, it would have to be my stepdad, Steve. I would cook southern food, and I would have my stepdad fix dinner. He was the only man in my life, and he died when I was young. We didn’t get that much time together.
What is your greatest athletic moment: When I went to the Pasco Invitational. I got to see what it was like to be with the “top dogs.”
Most recent book read/author: “Miles to Go,” by Miley Cyrus.
What’s on your iPod?: “Tambourine,” by Eve.
Also noted: Jones is on the National Honor Roll, and is an Achiever Scholar. She also volunteers at schools and group homes, and plants to attend Eastern Washington University next year.
