A Police vs. Fire Charity hockey game will be part of First Responder Appreciation Night prior to a Saturday, Jan. 11 Seattle Thunderbirds junior hockey game at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent.
The charity game will be between the Puget Sound Hockey and the South Sound LawDogs at 1 p.m. A ticket will get fans into the charity game and the T-Birds game at 6:05 p.m. against the Everett Silvertips.
“We hope to put on a fun family event that shows our love of hockey, raise money for our two partnered charities, show support of first responders and hopefully bring in even more support for the T-birds,” according to organizers of the event. “Both first responder teams are made up of players who have different skill levels in hockey. We have players that played in their youth and can still handle themselves on the ice, as well as players that cannot remember how to stop and will go crashing into the boards mid play.”
Fans who purchase a ticket using one of the charity team links, a portion of that ticket cost will go back to the selected charity. The T-Birds are offering a group rate of $33.45 per ticket.

Police and fire vehicles and crews will be on site for the charity game and the T-Birds game that evening for fans to interact with. The Plaza and doors to the arena will be up and running at noon for the charity game. The pregame show will begin at 12:30 p.m. with a planned puck drop of 1 p.m. The game will end around 3:30 p.m. and then ShoWare will reopen for the T-Birds at 4:30 p.m.
