Wilkerson wins again at Pacific Raceways | NHRA

Pacific Raceways is like a second home for funny car driver Tim Wilkerson as well as Maple Valley native Brad Plourd. Wilkerson won his third straight Northwest Nationals on Sunday while Plourd, who has relocated to Indiana but still has family here, won in the Super Comp category in Sportsman at the National Hot Rod Association’s 24th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Nationals. In fact, Wilkerson had not lost a round at Pacific Raceways since 2007, but this is his first trip to the winner’s circle this season.

Kent/Chinook returns from Western Regionals with two wins | LITTLE LEAGUE SENIORS

They won a district title. A state crown, too. The Kent/Chinook Little League Senior All-Star team was unable to add a third championship to its resume, but came home from the Western Regional tournament in Ontario, Calif., with plenty to be pleased about. A year after winning its way to the 10-team tournament, but coming up empty in the win column, Kent/Chinook returned to historic Jay Littleton Ballpark and won two of its four games, which resulted in a solid fifth-place showing for the local stars.
