A memorial service for Kentlake High School swim coach Seth Dawson is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 at Hudson’s Bay High School in Vancouver.
Dawson, 31, died Feb. 15 in a Cessna 172 plane crash in North Bend. The crash also killed Rob Hill, 30, swim coach at Federal Way’s Decatur High; and Elizabeth Redling, 29, of Federal Way.
Dawson was in his second season of coaching the Kentlake boys swim and dive team. He coached the Kentlake girls team in the fall.
He was a state championship swimmer at Hudson’s Bay before continuing his swimming career at California State Bakersfield.
Dawson is survived by his parents, Janice and Stephen Dawson of Vancouver; his brother, Paul Dawson; his sisters, Amy Dawson and Sara Romo; his brother-in-law, Chris R. Romo; his nephews, Liam Romo and Jackson Farland; his grandparents, Chester Strzelec and Wilma Dawson; in addition to many aunts, uncles and cousins.
